Is it simply “Old_Company_Name (Now New_Company_Name) or is there something more formal?

I would just put the old company name that you worked for. If a question arises about that company, just explain to the interviewer that they changed names. For example if you worked for Robinsons May back in 2000 and now it’s Macy’s. I would go with putting Robinsons May on my Resume.

Well, you can just ignore that fact in writing the resume, and depend on informing the interviewer about the name change during the interview
However, if u want to write it, when u start writing the work experience write the old compant name in Bold underlined font and just beneath it write the new name like as follows
