Question by Ginger D: What to expect from a second interview over the phone?
My first interview was in person, now I am having a second interview from another person over the phone. What do you think? I have never had a second interview, or one over the phone. Do second interviews, especially one over the phone halfway guarantee you might get a job offer?

It likely means that you are in the running but another person, maybe a higher up manager, wants to check you out before an offer is made. It likely won’t be as long as the inperson interview. You are fortunate in that you can have some materials with you that they won’t be able to see. You should go through the things that you think they will want you to know or be able to do and have examples of when you have done those things ready.

Usually the first interview is a phone interview especially if you are a good distance away from the company. Then you go in for a face to face interview as a second interview. It is possible that the person you are going to talk to was unavailable the day you went for your face to face and they want his input on the hiring decision. A second interview is a good sign but nothing guarantees a job offer. Do your best on this interview and hopefully it will work out for you.
he will get deeper into your education background, employment history and personality to see if you’re the right person for the job. he’ll also negotiate with you about your expected salary and benefits. so be prepared for that.
