Should Tutoring be Included Under ‘TEACHING EXPERIENCE’ On The Résumé?

Question by vol_jadzia: Should Tutoring be Included Under ‘TEACHING EXPERIENCE’ On The Résumé?
Yes or No?…

I found some people do include it as such on the résumé and when I looked up the definition of tutor it does mean to teach or instruct.

I might include it under the heading Other Experience. Some people try to include substitute teaching under teaching, but really its not

No. It is not actual teaching in the sense of a classroom. I would put it under “other experience” or “volunteer expereince” depending if it was paid or not.

Yes. The only essential difference between tutoring and classroom teaching (IMHO) is that tutoring is one-on-one teaching.
