They usually bring more people in for the second interview. They go over a lot of things from the first interview to see how the others like you and also it gives the other people a chance to ask you any questions that they may have. Good luck

I don’t think you prepare any differently. Many times you will find that the second interview is with other people in the organization. Basically you made it through the first cut, and you (and probably others) will meet with higher ups in the organization for their input as to your fitness for the job.
They have interviewed so many people they barely remember them. Your first interviewer wrote brief notes and you were amount the most qualified. They will introduce you to more people some you will work with and just want to make sure you fit in and will want the job.
I have had a job were I only had veto power over hiring. My boss would interview then when he selected he would ask me if I wanted them or not. One he selected for me wasn’t at all who I would have picked so I told him no. He wanted me to take someone’s brother in law who was a temp that was being let go. I said I wanted someone with a background in accounting and the guy was a techie, he said he thought he did have accounting. I stopped by and asked him, he didn’t have much. But he traded desks with someone to sit next to mine and read all the software manuals on the accounting software I supported. He really wanted the job so I had him hired. It was a good hire he worked hard and learned fast but I could have rejected him if I didn’t want to deal with him.
In some cases, a first interview is the screening interview prior to going to the next step. Usually the best of the first round goes to the second interview. Most second interviews are with the person you’ll be directly reporting to or someone higher in management.
You may be asked the same questions and/or some different. Don’t assume that if you asked the same questions that they know how you responded during the first interview. Review the job description for the position you are interviewing for . . . did the first interview cover why you should be offered the position based on what you shared?
If you haven’t already done so, critique yourself from the first interview. What did you do well? What were opportunities? Think verbiage and body language. This sometimes help especially if you tend to gesture a lot with your hands.
Make sure you bring a few copies of your resume and jot down any questions you may have for your interviewer that you did not get answered during the first interview.
Good luck . . . hope you get offered the position!
That is where they have wittled down the candidates to people that they think would be suitable for the job but want to make sure and also its another chance for you to prove to them that you do really want the job.
If they asked you back for a second interview, they are considering hiring you. They’ll probably just ask you a bunch of questions…They will be asking questions that will tell them if you are the right person for the job! It’s usually a good thing when they ask you back!
Good Luck!!
1st and 2nd interviews are usually from another employee from the department you’ll actually be working in. Manger, Director etc. The purpose of this is so both the 1st and 2nd interviewer can collaborate to see if you’d be a good match not only for company for position and also if you’d be able to get along well with the team you’ll be working with.
They have more than one person and can’t make up their mind. They want to pick the best of the best.
