I am not on unemployment but know of people who are who have no intention of returning to the work force. I am curious as to how long they can continue collecting unemployment? After 18 months are they no longer able to file? Do you not have to prove you are actively seeking employment? How does the government monitor whether people are looking for employment or not? I live in PA…I am not sure if it differs from state to state.

In PA you can only collect 26 weeks of benefits within a year. But if you’re only collecting half the benefits, you can make that last the whole year.
Of course there are exceptions due to them extending benefits.
When the extentions stop, there will be a lot of shocked people claiming they didn’t realize their benefits would end.

when your momma obama …………….
there is first unemployment and there are 3 extensions so someone could file for at least 18 months.
you have to be actively looking for a job. some have to show on the form where they have looked others do not for some reason
