Q&A: Can I receive an unemployment check for being forced to take a week off work?

Question by the bryce: Can I receive an unemployment check for being forced to take a week off work?
Work has been really slow lately, and as a result, they forced everyone to take a week off. As you can imagine, this has really taken it’s toll financially. Am I eligible to receive a unemployment check or something similar to cover this lost week?
Also, where do I go to file? I live in Las Vegas, Nevada.

No, unless they let you go and you then become unemployed you cannot get one it takes too long to fill out all the forms anyway by the time you did and they went through and you got the check you will already be working agian. Also if you become unemployed the checks stop at 6 months so if that is a worry start looking for a job now that can pick up when your other stops.
