Where do you file unemployment if you are moving to a different state?

Question by snowski321: Where do you file unemployment if you are moving to a different state?
I am leaving in about two weeks. Should I file after I move to a different state or while I am still here? Also, what do you do when you move to a new state about unemployment?

Contact your state unemployment office before you leave. Different states have different rules, but in general you file with the state in which you worked. At least as it pertains to my state (Oregon), it is called an “interstate” claim, and it is administered by a specific unit of the Employment Department.
