58 years old and I'm afraid that companies are not looking for my age group. I have applied to over thirty jobs with no luck. Have no insurance and can't afford. Our government is not suffering, we are. I have contact our government agencies, our president, states attorney office, all say the same, good luck we are working on it. Charley Christ wrote back and said, ( this is not my field, contact your local rep.) We are doomed if we are from the baby boomer age, there isn't anything out there for us.

You have to network. Get on the phone and talk business with people that can get you in the door. I just turned 50 and entered my profession at a time when you did not need a degree because my skill set was not taught in school. Now I'm management and no 4 year degree. I have to get to the hiring manger and not waste time with the HR staff. I fill out the paperwork so they can't accuse me of going around them but esentially I do. The goal is to get the hiring manger to tell them to set you up for an interivew.

We have get back to the idea that business is done at lunch and on the golf course. People still do business with people they like. People from our generation need to still work that way. It is harder but you gotta be smarter and more ruthless to get in.

Try for 30 companies a day. It is still a numbers game.
